double page spread drafts

I like this picture as it is a good use for a double page spread. It originally was just a4 size but I have copied and pasted the wall so that it flows throughout the full page. This is the first draft I have done of my double page spread and it needs a lot of improvement. I dont like the idea of having the text in a box as it looks quite bland so this is something I would change.
I prefer this picture to the other one as it is more easy to regognise within my genre. I have done the same method of fitting the picture across an A3 landscape and have copied and paste selections of the picture. I have had to draw in some of the bricks and this is quite noticeable. I figured when I place the text in it wont look so bad. To show consistency with the front cover, I have added stars at the side of the page that use the same colour scheme I have used throughout. I have experimented with the title and have decided to place it at the bottom to make it unique. Conventionally the heading on the double page spread are usually placed at the top of the page. I have gone against this here. As this is a draft this is something that can be changed.

I have decided that I will keep this picture and work around it to complete my double page spread. I have used the colours pink, green and white as they are quite common on my front cover and contents page. I've decided that I dont want to have my main heading based at the top of the page as I want it to look quite different. Many magazines of today have this feature and as my genre sort of relates to the past I have gone for an old look. Ive sort of placed the headings in a starnge position but I think this adds to the character she is so I have tried to make it quite different.

I have again arranged the headings in a different order. I dont think this looks all that good but it shows I am experimenting with it. Looking back through my other pieces. The greeny/turqoise colour isnt that visible and so I will be looking to change this in my final piece. I also will arrange my headings again so that tey are positioned in a correct place that doesnt make it look to crowded. Also I have to think about the fact the text will interfere with the fold in the middle of the page.
Out of all my drafts I favour this one the most. I think changing the green to the blue shows slightly more colours from the other two pages and is more consistent. I like the way my headings are positioned and I will keep them there. This could potentially be my final double page spread.
